The history on a lot of Black Tree Design’s catalog is fuzzy. Before they were Black Tree, the company was briefly called Icon Miniatures; Icon “inherited” most of the ranges and molds from Harlequin Miniatures, many of which are still available to purchase from Black Tree Design. All three were founded by Dean Edwards – hence the quotations around “inherited,” since they were sort of all his anyway…?
I have no idea at what point this Hundred Years War range was produced (but you can still get it). And don’t even get me started on the mystery of the out-of-production sci-fi range that Black Tree sold at one point – I’ve been unable to find any trace of it on the web, but I do own a few miniatures from it, as the shop where I work had (likely) the whole range recently. Wild. Speaking of science fiction, this knight has been given a plastic bolter from the RTB1 Space Marines kit. He’s a “Medieval Genestealer Hybrid.” The first of a handful. Hope you like it!
