Tom Meier. The art of miniature figures owes an awful lot to him.

Did you know he started sculpting when he was 15, and won an H.G Wells Award at 17? He sculpted this figure when he was 18 or 19. Tom was also arguably the first sculptor to use and spread the word about “green stuff,” which was (and for many, still is) the sculpting material of choice for small-scale figures.

This figure, while always having been a Ral Partha figure, was shown in the UK printing of The First Citadel Compendium during that odd time when Citadel was licensed to distribute Ral Partha in the UK. The figure has been given multiple names and product codes, but it was first released in a Ral Partha blister pack of three figures (product code 01-066) and was named a Necromancer. He has also been released under the titles of “Arch Mage” and “Wizard” over the years.

You can find details if you wish at the Lost Minis Wiki here on the “Personalities and Things That Go Bump in the Night” range page. This miniature nearly painted itself. Once cleaned and given a zenithal spray of white primer over black, the gorgeous sculpting did all the work. Tom is a master.
