This is a very peculiar miniature from an interesting range. The Neo-Soviets were one of a handful of factions for FASA’s short-lived sci-fi game “VOR: The Maelstrom.” FASA launched the game in 1999, only to fold in 2001. The cover art on the main rule book was by none other than Paul Bonner. There were even a few novels published alongside the game (none of which I have read – I wonder if they are any good). Kev Adams sculpted a large number of figures for the game – including all the figures in the starter box! – but these mutants (there are six unique sculpts in the set) may be among his strangest creations. Tim Prow (Diehard Miniatures) was the other main sculptor for the ranges.
