Dellon and I are working on a game together (shhhh) and I’ve got a little army list cooked up for it. This guy is the still-to-be-named LORD OF BATTLE for my army THE STARLESS SYNOD. I loved painting all the little skulls on his tall hat.

Essex really has some great miniatures, and for very reasonable prices. The range is an acquired taste for many, due to the bobblehead-like proportions, but if you’re a fan of Bob Olley’s work it’s likely you’ll love the Q series figures. Like many of the “old guard” miniature companies, the Essex website is pretty outdated with small or missing images. Lost Minis will help fill in some of the gaps but it seems to me that this range isn’t front-of-mind for most people (and maybe not very well-loved?) which perhaps explains the missing images at the LMW.
1986 makes this figure wildly appropriate for WFB2/WFB3 in my mind. A real stunner. The reverse side of his wand has an “angry sun” with its tongue out. I love the duality.
Here’s another painted version of the miniature (grabbed from the LMW, here) – thought I’d share this as it made me chuckle (he’s definitely cross-eyed, wouldn’t you say?):
